Hey There! I want to give a shout out to Autumn at The Autumn Review. (Check out her super cool blog and scores of book reviews HERE.) Some other author- / book-related news: I just finished up the rough edits of the next novel in the When Girlfriends… series! It’s going to be sent to the betas today and then, in time for NaNoWriMo that kicks off next week, I’ll be delving into the first draft writing of the 4th book in the series!
What’s NaNoWriMo? To brief on it again…it’s an online community where 300,000-something writers commit to create a novel-length text (50,000 words) in just 30 days. The entire month of November is NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth.
Of course, 50,000 words is a short novel (the shortest, by definition), but it’s at least a good ½ or ⅔ of a novel! It’ll be my first year to participate and guess what? Since I either A) don’t really have much of a life, LOL, or B) am a little OCD, or C) view writing as a hefty part-time job, or D) all of the above (I think it might be D), I’m going to shoot for the stars on this one! Not 50,000 words for NaNo, but a full novel length for me, 85,000-100,000-ish, depending on what story the protagonist wants me to tell. I’m super excited, a wee nervous, and totally clueless about how I’ll manage. But, hey! Won’t know if I don’t try.
Before I dash off to tackle my afternoon calendar, I wanted to let you know that there’s going to be a Blog Hop called the Black Friday Blog Hop going on for one day, only: Black Friday! (November 23rd) It’s still in the works right now, but nearly 200 authors, bloggers, and book reviewers are going to be participating in the Hop, with some really awesome giveaways. Including some amazing grand prizes. (Past prizes for Hops like these are Kindle Fires, NOOKs, major gift cards…)
Like I said, it’s all still in the works, but you can get a hint of what it’s all about by visiting the host’s blog HERE, and seeing what past Carrie Ann Blog Hops have been like, and what kind of awesome-cool prizes there are to win. More on that as the mad shopping day draws near.
