The Workout in the Banana Republic Blue Jeans, Christmas Time, and Other Randomness

Hey There!

With the holiday season all around and because of the general delight it incites in a Christmas-crazed girl like myself, I’m in the mood for a fun blog post. (And since Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated over here in Germany it’s okay to have Christmas decor and its wondrous festivities and mood come mid-November. I can feel a bit Christmasy, right?) I thought I’d do a little non-novel writing right now. Don’t get me wrong. I love writing stories. Just thought I’d take an early pause from working on my current When Girlfriends… book for the day and do a bit o’ blogging.

As far as my latest WIP goes (the 4th book in the series and my NaNoWriMo baby), I’m so happy to report that the manuscript currently stands at a hair above 70,000 words!! Not only does that mean that I’ve achieved NaNo winner-ness (because I had to surpass 50,000 words between Nov. 1-30), but it means that this book is ALMOST done! I can taste it. Oh it’s been so much fun to write. I can’t wait to release it. Of course, book number 3 has to come out first, and that’s in the beta reading phase right now. Oh, I can’t wait to release that one, too!!

Author Q&A, Oktoberfest, 99 cent Ebook…

Hey There!

Can you believe it’s already October? Oktoberfest has been in full swing in Germany for a while now (think it’s nearly over if not already). It’s still going on on a small scale in Alexanderplatz here in Berlin (Oktoberfest is a big Bavarian deal…not too huge up here in the former Prussia region).

I’ve never been a big fan of the Fest, not even of one of the biggest ones in the US (in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I used to live). But…I’m not a carnivore nor do I really fancy beer. And carnivals usually scare me. So Oktoberfest isn’t exactly for me, but it’s still fun to giggle at the Lederhosen and Dirndls that occasionally pass by…and the people who engage in the Oktoberfest craziness. (more…)

Back From Vacation and Ready to Write

Hey There! After three weeks on the road and in the air, thousands of miles logged, and far too many Del Taco bean and cheese burritos and Salt Water Taffy candies later, I’m back from coffee-loving Seattle and sunny California! Gosh, vacation is pretty much the best thing ever. This year’s grand vacation was just…well, grand! It’s a bit bittersweet that it has come to a close, naturally. It was a blast and provided that much-needed “off time” that my husband and I were craving, but I’m definitely delighted to be back home in good ‘ol Berlin.

With most of the jet lag behind me, it’s time to bring out the big guns. Put the pedal to metal. Hunker down and git ‘er done. Whatever and however all of those inspiring sayings go that really mean, “Get your butt moving already!” It’s time to work on When Girlfriends Break Hearts’s sequel. (more…)

Paperback Copies of When Girlfriends Break Hearts

Hey There!

I’m planning the big trip to Seattle and the California coast that my husband and I are taking! Really excited about this vacation back to the States for some sun, sand and surf. Sun with a high SPF slapped on since I’m a pasty lady. Sand on the beach and not much in between my toes…got a real OCD problem there. And surf as in the surf of the ocean…and even some surfer watching because what they do—braving those Great Whites and Megalodons that I know lurk beneath—is super awesome and brave. (more…)

I Feel Like Blogging…

Hey There!

It’s been a relatively quiet day around the apartment today. Probably because Wednesdays tend to be more hyped up with all of the weekly errands I have to run, naturally casting a slight shadow on Thursdays. And yesterday I added to the chore list picking up a new pair of specks! So that made yesterday a little more adventurous and busy. New specks are pretty awesome. No, not bacon for you German readers (haha, aren’t I hilarious?), and not really a new pair, I guess, but new lenses. It really is amazing how glasses can…uh…improve your vision. I can actually read the book titles on the bookshelf in the living room when sitting across the room. Wowser! Who would have thought? (more…)
